Autopsy complete in north central death

An autopsy is complete in a suspicious death that took place in north central Edmonton this past weekend. 

On Sunday, June 1, 2025, at approximately 2:47 a.m., police were contacted by Edmonton Fire Rescue Services (EFRS) after firefighters responded to a residential fire in the area of 120 Avenue and 77 Street and located a deceased male inside.

On Tuesday, June 3, the Edmonton Medical Examiner’s Officer completed an autopsy on Michael Jackman, 48 and determined the manner of death was homicide. The cause of death is being withheld for investigative purposes.

Anyone with information about this suspicious death, or anyone with security or dash camera footage of the area around 77 Street and 120 Avenue at approximately 1:30 to 2 a.m. on June 1, is asked to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone.
