Further testing required in northwest Edmonton death

An autopsy on a male found unresponsive in northwest Edmonton yesterday will require further testing.

On Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025, at approximately 3:20 p.m., police were called to reports of a disturbance that took place in the area of 90 Street and 112 Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located members of the public performing first aid on an unconscious 49-year-old man. The man was treated by EMS but sadly succumbed to his injuries on scene.

Homicide Section has since taken over the investigation. The Edmonton Medical Examiner’s Office completed an autopsy today, Friday, Oct. 24, 2025, and determined that further testing is required. The cause and manner of death are unconfirmed at this time.
