The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is seeking witnesses and dash camera footage following a serious collision.

At approximately 2:41 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 31, 2025, Northwest patrol officers responded to a collision on the eastbound stretch of Anthony Henday Drive and 184 Street. It was reported to police that a white Mitsubishi Lancer, operated by an 18-year-old male, had struck the pillars of the overpass for 184 Street.

The vehicle caught fire after the collision. A road maintenance worker came upon the crash and was able to put the fire out with a fire extinguisher. Edmonton Fire Rescue Services (EFRS) extracted the male from the vehicle, who was then transported to hospital by EMS with life-threatening injuries. He remains in critical but stable condition at this time.

EPS Major Collision Investigations Section (MCIS) continues to investigate.
