Homicide detectives investigating suspicious death of 37-year-old woman

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is investigating a suspicious death of a woman that took place in central Edmonton.

On Saturday, September 20, 2025, at approximately 1:01 p.m., EPS Downtown patrol officers were conducting an investigation in the area of 100 Avenue and 111 Street. Through the course of their investigation, they discovered that a 37-year-old female had died in hospital after arriving with what appeared to be suspicious injuries.

Homicide Section has now taken over the investigation. An autopsy for the woman has been scheduled for Monday, September 22, 2025. A 39-year-old male has been taken into custody. The male and female were known to each other. Police continue to investigate.
