Police seek witnesses in pedestrian hit and run

For Immediate Release: 30-May-2025 @ 2:00 PM
MRU #: TR25018

Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck in a marked crosswalk in south Edmonton on Tuesday morning.

On Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at approximately 8:35 a.m. a 17-year-old female was in a marked crosswalk heading westbound on the south side of 28 Avenue, crossing 17 Street, when she was reportedly struck by a small black vehicle headed northbound on 17 Street. The driver briefly stopped but did not remain on scene.

The teen made her way to school where EMS attended, and she was taken to the hospital as a precaution for non-life-threatening injuries.

“This collision happened at a fairly busy intersection at a busy time of day, so we’re hoping someone saw something and comes forward,” said Constable Leslie Quinan, with EPS Southeast Division.

Anyone who may have witnessed or has dash camera footage of this collision is asked to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone.
