Around 7:12 p.m. on May 24, 2025, the driver of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling northbound on Winterburn Road. He attempted to pass a northbound Acura, left of the centerline, as that car slowed and made a left-hand turn onto Westview Blvd. The motorcycle collided with the driver’s side of the car, sending the 26-year-old and his bike into the northwest ditch.
EMS also responded to the collision, however the male motorcyclist was declared deceased at the scene. No one in the Acura was injured. Speed is believed to be a factor in the collision.
Winterburn Road between 107 and 109 Avenue was closed for several hours as police conducted the investigation but it has since reopened. EPS thanks motorists for their patience.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed or has dash camera or other video footage of this collision to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone.
