Following an autopsy, the death of a man in Edmonton’s River Valley over the weekend has been determined non-criminal.

On Sunday, Aug. 31, 2025, at approximately 7:35 a.m., EPS Downtown Branch officers responded to reports of a death in the river valley near 101 Street and 100 Avenue. It was reported to police that a man was lying on a hill near a set of stairs in the area. Upon arrival, police located a deceased adult male.

Yesterday, Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2025, the Edmonton Medical Examiner’s Office completed an autopsy on the man and determined his death is non-criminal.
