On Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025, at approximately 10:24 a.m., police executed a search warrant at the residence of the accused in the area of 103 Street and 107 Avenue. Upon arrival, police located and arrested a 30-year-old male without incident.
After completing a search, Clark McDonagh was found in possession of over 1.7 kilograms of fentanyl with an approximate street value of over $445,000 as well as over 200 grams of cocaine with an approximate street value of nearly $15,000.
Police also discovered weapons, including a submachine gun, a shotgun, two rifles, two handguns, two tasers, 25 prohibited magazines and hundreds of ammunition rounds. Additionally, police located evidence of drug production, Canadian currency, 12 Canadian passports and items capable of producing fake identification cards.
“The successful collaboration between multiple EPS resources including Tactical, Targeted Response to Auto Theft Prevention (TRAP), Special Project Team, Flight Operations and Northwest Patrol has led to nearly 2 kilograms of fentanyl being taken off our streets,” says Cst. Scott Babin with EPS’ Northwest Beats. “In addition to illicit drugs, we were able to successfully seize multiple firearms, preventing them from being used in future gun crimes on the streets of Edmonton.”

Clark McDonagh, 30, is facing 73 drug trafficking and firearm-related charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of identity documents and drug production.
