On Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at approximately 12:33 a.m. EPS officers were in the area of 64 Street and 12 Avenue for an unrelated investigation, when an unknown white SUV turned from 66 Street onto 12 Avenue eastbound and intentionally drove toward an officer standing next to their police vehicle. The officer was able to jump out of the way just in time and was not physically injured. The vehicle then continued eastbound on 12 Avenue before heading southbound on 62 Street.
EPS Air1 and additional patrol units responded to the area but were unsuccessful in locating the vehicle. The make and model of the SUV are unknown at this time. A map of the location and a brief video clip of the SUV are included below.

“Thankfully, our officer was able to quickly react and move out of the way, avoiding serious physical injuries,” says Acting Detective Ashleigh Pollock with the EPS Investigative Response Team (IRT). “This was a deliberate attempt to harm an on-duty police officer while they were in service of their community, and we are appealing to any witnesses or individuals with active dash camera footage in the area to please come forward.”
