Police seek public's assistance identifying sexual assault suspect

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is seeking the public’s assistance identifying a male suspect in connection with a sexual assault that took place earlier this year.

On Feb. 15, 2025, it was reported that, between the hours of approximately 2:05 a.m. and 2:45 a.m., a female was sexually assaulted by an unknown male at a bus stop in the area of 129B Avenue and 97 Street. It was reported to police that the unknown male was last seen walking northbound on 97 Street, then westbound through a parking lot on 129B Avenue. Upon police arrival, the female was transported to hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as an Indigenous male, between 5’6” and 5’9”, with a slender build, no facial hair, no tattoos and no glasses. It was reported that the male suspect was last seen wearing a black jacket with the hood on his head, blue jeans, tall black snow boots and a black travel pack. Assist to ID: Unknown male

Sexual Assault Section is leading the investigation and are asking anyone with information about the identity of the male suspect to contact police or provide an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.

Police are also asking residents or businesses with dash camera or security camera footage between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. on Feb. 15, 2025, to please contact them. Likewise, police are asking members of the public who may have witnessed the assault or observed suspicious activity in the area of 129B Avenue and 97 Street to please come forward.
