Police investigating suspicious death in central Edmonton

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is investigating a death that took place in central Edmonton today.

Today, Friday, May 16, at approximately 11 a.m. police responded to the report of an assault in the area of 102 Street and 110 Avenue. When officers arrived, they located an adult female with life-threatening injuries and a second adult female with non-life-threatening injuries. EMS treated and transported the victim with life-threatening injuries to hospital, where she later died. The other victim attended the hospital independently.

An unknown suspect reportedly fled the scene. EPS Homicide Section is investigating.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, May 19, 2025.
