The Little Black Book of Scams

The Competition Bureau of Canada has developed a creative information booklet called, The Little Black Book of Scams. This booklet includes 12 of the most common scams in Canada, how to protect yourself from scammers, and what to do if you’re a victim.

Fraud Prevention Brochures

In 2018, the EPS noticed a high volume of fraud and identity theft complainants were newcomers to the Edmonton area. To aid in the fight against these targeted frauds, the EPS developed a fraud prevention pamphlet specifically for new citizens of Edmonton so all citizens can easily have access to common fraud-related red flags and contact information for reporting frauds.

This pamphlet is available in nine languages:

In 2021, the EPS developed a comprehensive brochure with prevention tips for the most common scams affecting Edmontonians including: phone scams, online scams, romance scams, buy and sell scams, extortion scams, and employment scams. Download this important brochure here
