Carjacking suspect located and arrested

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) has located and arrested a 34-year-old male in relation to a carjacking that took place in Edmonton.

At approximately 1:45 p.m., on Sun., May 10, 2026, it was reported to the EPS that a male suspect with a firearm carjacked a taxi in the area of 151 Street and 111 Avenue. The suspect was then linked to criminal activity in St. Albert in which the RCMP conducted investigations.

On Wed., May 13, 2026, at around 1:15 p.m. David Nelson St. Cyr, 34, was located and arrested outside of a Wabasca motel in the area of Highway 813 and Mistassiniy Road North.

The EPS has charged St. Cyr with robbery with a prohibited firearm, pointing a firearm, carry a concealed weapon, careless use/storage firearm, possess offensive weapon dangerous to public, possession of firearm knowing possession unauthorized, prohibited firearm/weapon in vehicle and alter/deface/remove serial number. Additional charges from the RCMP are pending.

“We are grateful that members of the public contacted police when the suspect was seen in Wabasca,” says Det. Troy Seguin with the EPS’ Major Crimes Branch. “This investigation has stretched throughout many parts of this province, and we appreciate the support we received from our partners at the RCMP.”
