Autopsy complete in west Edmonton death

The man found deceased in west Edmonton was the victim of a homicide.

On Apr. 3, 2026, at approximately 9:36 p.m., police responded to reports of an injured male at a residence in the area of 82 Avenue NW and 175 Street NW. Upon arrival, a 52-year-old male was taken to hospital by EMS where he was pronounced deceased a short time later. A male youth was arrested on scene without incident.

An autopsy completed on Tuesday, Apr. 7, 2026, confirmed the victim, a 52-year-old male, died as a result of a homicide.

Police charged a male youth with second degree murder. The youth accused is known to the victim and police are withholding their identities and the cause of death for investigative purposes.
