Autopsy complete and charges laid in northeast Edmonton death

The man found deceased in northeast Edmonton last week was the victim of a homicide.

On Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025, at approximately 8:41 p.m., police responded to a weapons complaint in the area of 160A Avenue and 83 Street. Upon arrival, officers found a deceased 22-year-old male. Police also located a 53-year-old female with serious, life-threatening injuries who was treated and transported to hospital by EMS.

A 25-year-old male was placed under arrest and EPS Homicide Section took over the investigation.

The male suspect, the injured female and the deceased male victim were known to one another.

The Edmonton Medical Examiner’s Office completed an autopsy on Dec. 1, 2025, and determined that Jeremy Poon, 22, died of multiple stab wounds and the manner of death is homicide.

The 53-year-old female victim remains in hospital.

On Nov. 30, 2025, police charged Wesley Poon, 25, with second degree murder, attempted murder and arson endangering life.
