Police identify victim at fire scene

The death of a woman found inside a residence that caught fire has been deemed a homicide. Police have since identified the female.

The Edmonton Medical Examiner performed an autopsy on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026, and determined Teresa Katcheech, 39, died as a result of homicide. The cause of death remains withheld at this time for investigative reasons.

EPS Homicide Section detectives continue to investigate.
