Autopsy complete in northeast death

A man who died following a disturbance in northeast Edmonton was the victim of a homicide.

An autopsy completed on Friday, June 12, 2026, determined that Michael Joseph Conway, 32, died as a result of a stab wound. The manner of death is confirmed to be homicide.

A woman who was arrested on scene, Alexandra Bachinsky, 36, has been charged with second degree murder.

The accused and victim were known to one another.

Background

On Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at approximately 6 a.m., police were responding to an unrelated matter in the area of 118 Avenue and 47 Street when they became aware of a disturbance. Police subsequently observed a seriously injured man emerging from a residence followed by a woman.

Police and EMS provided life saving measures to the man, and he was transported to hospital, where he later died. The woman was taken into custody without further incident.
