In 2018, White committed sexual offences against children in Calgary. He was subsequently arrested and convicted in 2020, receiving a two‑year custodial sentence. While on judicial interim release, White committed additional offences in Calgary involving the possession of child pornography between 2019 and 2020. He was convicted of these offences in 2021 and received an additional 15‑month consecutive sentence. Following his statutory release in 2022, White reoffended in 2023 by accessing and uploading child pornography. He was arrested and in early January 2024 was convicted of possessing child pornography and breaching a prohibition order and was sentenced to 27 months incarceration.
Upon White’s release, he will reside in Edmonton. Given White’s criminal history and his high risk of reoffending, the Edmonton Police Service has sought and obtained court-imposed conditions. Upon his release, White will be subject to numerous conditions including the following:
- You will not attend within 100 meters of a public park, public swimming area, daycare, school ground, playground, recreational centers, community centers, youth shelters, public libraries, or any other area where persons under the age of 16 are present or can reasonably expected to be present unless you have received written approval from your Supervisor or designate.
- You shall have no contact or attempted contact (including written, or contact over the Internet, or any form of electronic communication) with any child under the age of 16 years. You shall not enter a personal or intimate relationship with any person until his/her identity has been disclosed to your Supervisor and he/she has been informed by your Supervisor of your prohibitions regarding contact with children under the age of 16.
- You shall have no contact, direct or indirect, with the victims of your index offence.
- You shall not associate with anyone known to have a criminal record for sexual offences except for participants in a program or individuals approved by your Supervisor.
- You must live at a residence approved by the Alberta Court of Justice or your Supervisor, and you must not change that address until you have received written approval from your Supervisor.
White’s compliance with these conditions will be monitored and managed by the Behavioural Assessment Unit of the Edmonton Police Service.
