On Monday, Dec. 15, 2025, at approximately 8 p.m. police responded to the area of 51 Avenue and 201 Street for an attempted carjacking. It was reported to police that a 49-year-old male was in front of his residence when he was approached by two young male suspects. One of the suspects produced a firearm and demanded the keys to his vehicle. The male complied and the suspects fled in the vehicle but due to icy road conditions, quickly abandoned the car.
Later that same evening, around 11:30 p.m. police responded to another attempted carjacking, this time in the area of 57 Avenue and 174 Street. It was reported to police that two male suspects, while driving a stolen vehicle, purposely caused a minor collision with another driver. When the adult female driver exited her vehicle to exchange information, the suspects attempted to steal her vehicle but fled after a brief physical altercation.
The EPS Robbery Section took over the investigation and were able to connect the two events and have since then made two arrests.
