Police investigating fatal pedestrian collision on Mill Woods Road

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred in the city's southeast.

Officers were called to a parking lot in the area of Mill Woods Road and 28 Avenue at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2026. Upon arrival, they found an injured 23-year-old male. EMS arrived and pronounced the male deceased at the scene.

Through the course of the investigation, officers found that the male had approached a vehicle in a parking lot and there was a confrontation. As the driver went to leave, the male was inadvertently struck by the vehicle.

Speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors in this collision. The EPS Major Collision Investigations Section (MCIS) continues to investigate.
