On Tuesday, June 23, 2026, police formally charged Kevin Wade Moroz, 54, of Two Hills County, Alberta with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon. The charges relate to assaults on Gerald Geake which happened from April to May of 2002. Kevin and Gerald were known to one another.
Gerald Geake, was reported missing to EPS in spring 2003 after friends realized he had not been heard from him since May 2002. He would have been 37 years old at the time of his disappearance.
Investigators have determined that Gerald was assaulted in a south Edmonton residence immediately before he was last seen. He is believed to have left the residence with Mr. Moroz and another individual. He has not been seen or heard from since.
Investigative efforts have been unable to gain information on Gerald's location, and his disappearance is being treated as suspicious. Detectives are asking for the public's assistance in providing any information that may assist with the investigation.
In 2002, Mr. Moroz was driving a black 1992 GMC Sierra similar to the one pictured and may have been driving this vehicle in the Avonmore neighbourhood around the time of Gerald’s disappearance.

“Although considerable time has passed, we’re hopeful someone may have information about Gerald’s activities after leaving the residence,” says Detective Bryan Kincheloe with the EPS Historical Crimes Section. “Even the smallest, seemingly insignificant memory may assist our investigation, and we encourage them to come forward.”
Police are asking anyone with information about Gerald’s disappearance to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone.
