Autopsy complete, charges laid in Friday homicide

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) has laid charges in a homicide that occurred in central Edmonton on Friday.

On Monday, May 19, 2025, the Edmonton Medical Examiner completed an autopsy on Tricia Beaver, 50. The cause of death was determined to be a stab wound, and the manner of death was confirmed to be homicide.

Police arrested Linsey Gouda, 36, on Friday, May 16, 2025, several hours after the assault occurred. She has been charged with second degree murder in relation to the homicide, and attempted murder in relation to the stabbing of another 35-year-old female during the same incident.

Background

On Friday, May 16, at approximately 11 a.m. police responded to the report of an assault in the area of 102 Street and 110 Avenue. When officers arrived, they located an adult female with life-threatening injuries and a second adult female with non-life-threatening injuries. EMS treated and transported the victim with life-threatening injuries to hospital, where she later died. The other victim attended the hospital independently.
