On Friday, Oct. 30, 2025, the EPS Investigative Response Team (IRT) executed a search warrant at a residence in the Hermitage neighbourhood following an investigation into illegal firearms. Frank Budesheim, 52, is now facing a total of 14 firearm-related offences including possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm and possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm without a license and registration.

“Illegal firearms pose a significant and unacceptable risk to community safety,” said Staff Sergeant Eric Stewart from IRT. “Our officers remain committed to identifying individuals who choose to possess, traffic, or use illegal firearms. Targeting these offenders is critical to reducing violence and preventing harm in our neighbourhoods.”

Budesheim is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 26, 2026.
