The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is investigating the sudden death of an infant that took place at a residence in northeast Edmonton.

At 11:30 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2026, the EPS was called to assist after a male was found unresponsive. Edmonton Fire Rescue Services and EMS performed life-saving measures and the infant was taken to hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

The EPS continues to investigate; no arrests have been made. An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday, July 20, 2026.
