Of the nine reported shootings in July 2025, eight were believed to be targeted and three resulted in reported injuries. There were no deaths as a result of shooting occurrences last month.  In seven of the nine shootings, there was potential for innocent bystanders, including children, to be harmed.

“This month, we've seen a decline in shootings compared to both last month and the same time last year,” says Acting Staff Sergeant Sean Jenkinson of the EPS Firearms Investigation Section. “Our commitment to tackling gun violence in Edmonton remains a priority with the goal of continued reduction and increased public safety.”
