Police ask for assistance in search for missing 62-year-old man

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is seeking the public’s assistance in the search for a missing man. 

Wayne Martel, 62, was last seen around noon on Sunday, June 21, 2026, on the LRT between Belvedere and Clareview stations. Police believe he may have been heading towards the University of Alberta area.

He was last seen wearing a blue bag fashioned as a rain poncho over a grey sweatsuit, as pictured below.

Martel is described as 6’ tall with a slim build and long, salt and pepper hair. Martel has dementia and may be confused and unable to navigate his surroundings. He also has mobility issues and uses a walker. Family and police are concerned about his well-being.
