MRU #: 26R035

Edmonton Police Service (EPS) Northeast Branch officers are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects responsible for an assault on an elderly female Sunday morning.

On April 19, 2026, around 9:00 a.m., Northeast Branch patrol officers responded to the report of an assault at a bus shelter in the area of McConachie Boulevard and 64 Street. A 66-year-old female had been approached by two young males, one had a fire extinguisher and discharged it, covering the senior and the bus shelter with powder before fleeing westbound. EMS attended and treated the senior who was released on scene.

The suspects are described as:

Suspect #1: Black male, wearing a black jacket with a hoodie. He discharged the fire extinguisher.

Suspect #2: Light skinned male, wearing a white hoodie.

“This was a completely unprovoked and random attack on a senior citizen,” says Const. Arthur Rekshta of the EPS Northeast Division. “We’re hopeful someone with information about this incident will come forward so we can hold these people accountable for this unacceptable action.”

Anyone with information about the suspects or this incident is asked to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone. Anonymous information can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.p3tips.com/250
