Police investigate pedestrian collision; seek video footage

Edmonton Police Service Major Collision Investigations Section (MCIS) officers are investigating a pedestrian collision that occurred yesterday.

On Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at approximately 1:48 p.m., a 38-year-old male was skateboarding eastbound on the south sidewalk of 23 Avenue and crossing 91 Street at a marked crosswalk. At the same time, a 2015 Nissan Rogue operated by a 64-year-old male was travelling westbound on 23 Avenue and attempted to turn south onto 91 Street and struck the male pedestrian.

EMS transported the male pedestrian to hospital with life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported. The driver of the Nissan Rogue remained on scene. Neither speed nor alcohol are believed to be factors in the collision.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed or has dash camera footage of this collision to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone.
