Police immediately stopped to request EMS and administered first aid. Upon arrival, EMS treated and transported the female to hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries. The female remains in hospital and police have offered her and her family support through the EPS’ Crime and Trauma-Informed Support Services. No police officers were injured and speed is not believed to be a factor in this incident.
Subsequently, the EPS submitted a 46.1 notification to the Director of Law Enforcement, who has since directed the EPS to conduct an investigation into the incident. EPS Major Collision Investigations Section (MCIS) continues to investigate, and the EPS will not be sharing any additional information at this time.
Officers are aware of vehicles in the area at the time of the collision.
