At approximately 10:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2025, police were called to the area of 178 Street and 90 Avenue for a collision involving a pedestrian.
It was initially reported that a 25-year-old male was walking in the southbound lanes of 178 Street, not in a crosswalk. He ran across the centre median and was struck by a Jeep heading northbound. EMS treated and transported the male to hospital with serious injuries.
The 24-year-old driver of the Jeep was uninjured and remained on the scene, fully cooperating with police. The EPS Major Collisions Investigation Section (MCIS) has since taken over the investigation.
Officers are asking any drivers with dash cam footage or area businesses with CCTV footage that was active between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2025, to please contact police. Likewise, police are asking members of the public who may have witnessed the collision to please come forward to police.
