Massage therapist charged with sexual assault

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) has charged a massage therapist with sexual assault following an investigation into a complaint made in June.

In June of this year, a female complainant reported that the accused touched her in a sexual manner without her consent while providing massage therapy at his practice, Bamboo Wellness, located in the area of 34 Avenue and 97 Street.

Following an investigation by the EPS, Julio Uribe, 36, was charged with one count of sexual assault on June 10, 2026.

Uribe was released with conditions including:

  • Not to have contact with the complainant
  • Not to go to the place of business where the incident occurred

Investigators believe there may be additional complainants and are asking anyone who may have had a similar experience with Uribe to come forward. Support is available for anyone affected by sexual violence though local sexual assault support services or through the EPS.
