The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is investigating a death that took place yesterday in west Edmonton.

On Apr. 3, 2026, at approximately 9:36 p.m., police responded to reports of an injured male at a residence in the area of 82 Avenue NW and 175 Street NW. Upon arrival, a 52-year-old male was taken to hospital by EMS where he was pronounced deceased a short time later. A male youth was arrested on scene without incident.

Police have deemed this death to be suspicious, and the investigation has since been turned over to the EPS Homicide Section. At this time, police are not seeking any additional suspects.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday, Apr. 7, 2026.
