Police investigating suspicious death of 19-year-old male

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is investigating a death that took place in the early morning hours in the city's northeast

Police received a 911 call at approximately 2 a.m. on Monday, December 8, 2025, for reports of a stabbing. When police arrived at a residence in the area of 80 Street and 117 Avenue, they found a 19-year-old male in medical distress. Officers provided first aid until EMS arrived and took over medical care. Sadly, the male was declared deceased at the scene.

A short time later, a 21-year-old male was taken into custody in the area of Jasper Avenue and 101 Street.

The investigation has since been turned over to the EPS Homicide Section. An autopsy has been scheduled for tomorrow at 9 a.m.

The victim and suspect were known to one another.

Police are asking residents in the Parkdale neighbourhood to check their properties for any unusual items that may have been discarded following the incident. If you come across anything that appears suspicious, do not move the object and contact police immediately.
