Autopsy complete, charges laid in central Edmonton homicide

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) has charged a 42-year-old man in relation to a death that took place in central Edmonton over the weekend.

On Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025, at approximately 4:26 a.m., EPS Downtown Branch officers responded to reports of gunshots in the area of 119 Street and Jasper Avenue. Upon arrival, police located a deceased female inside an SUV.

Earlier today, Monday, Sept. 1, 2025, the Edmonton Medical Examiner’s Office completed an autopsy and determined that Priscilla McGreer, 39, died as result of gunshot wounds and the manner of death is homicide.

Homicide Section has since arrested and charged Kyle Laumen, 42, of Edmonton, with first degree murder, aggravated assault and breach of probation.

McGreer and Laumen were known to one another.
