Twice in March 2026, Muhammad Ahmed attended the U of A campus and demonstrated a pattern of concerning behaviour in public spaces. This includes engaging in unwanted interactions with females that have escalated to harassment and, at times, threatening or aggressive conduct. Ahmed is known to police and also has a history of similar interactions in other public spaces in Edmonton and other Canadian cities.
Ahmed was arrested and charged with unlawful interference with enjoyment of property (mischief) and two counts of failing to comply with conditions and is now subject to a court order with conditions, including that he stay away from the U of A campus.

“Police would like to remind all members of the public to stay aware of their surroundings,” says Acting Staff Sergeant Brian McGuigan with the EPS Sexual Assault Section. “Additionally, if you suddenly find someone is engaging you in a threatening, aggressive or hostile manner, tell them clearly to leave you alone, and proceed to the closest, well-lit populated area before calling for help.”
Anyone who notices Ahmed on the U of A campus or has a hostile interaction with him in a public space elsewhere is encouraged to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone.
