MRU #: TR25046

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) Major Collision Investigations Section (MCIS) is investigating a collision between two vehicles and an e-scooter rider that has turned fatal.

At approximately 9:35 p.m. on Sept. 24, 2025, a personal electric scooter operated by a 49-year-old male was travelling northbound on 82 Street approaching 115 Avenue. While making a left turn onto 115 Avenue, the scooter moved back into the northbound lane of 82 Street and was struck by an Infiniti G37 operated by a 36-year-old male. The rider was dislodged from the scooter by the impact and was then struck by a southbound Chrysler 200 operated by a 30-year-old male.

EMS treated and transported the scooter rider to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Sadly, on Oct. 6, 2025, he succumbed to his injuries and died in hospital. MCIS continues to investigate.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed or has dash camera footage of this collision to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone. Anonymous information can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.p3tips.com/250.
