MRU #: TR25044

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is investigating a pedestrian fatality that took place earlier today in the Stillwater neighbourhood.

On Friday, Oct. 3, 2025, at approximately 6:27 a.m., West Branch patrol officers were called to the report of a collision involving a pedestrian and a truck in the area of Stillwater Blvd and 23 Avenue. It was reported to police that a man was crossing 23 Avenue at the intersection, when he was struck by a 2007 Dodge Dakota travelling eastbound on 23 Avenue.

A bystander attempted to provide medical aid to the pedestrian; however, EMS responded and confirmed the 73-year-old man succumbed to his injuries on scene. The 48-year-old female driver of the truck remained on scene and did not report any injuries,

EPS Major Collision Investigations Section (MCIS) continues to investigate. Lighting conditions are considered a factor in this collision; however, speed and alcohol are not.

This is Edmonton’s 26th traffic fatality of 2025.
