MRU #: TR26006

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is investigating a fatal single-vehicle collision that took place early this morning on 41 Avenue SW.

At approximately 2:40 a.m., on Sunday, April 26, 2026, a 1991 BMW 735i was travelling westbound on 41 Avenue SW when it lost control and left the roadway on the north side of 41 Avenue SW just west of Allard Rd SW. The vehicle then struck two trees and a light standard before coming to a stop.

The 25-year-old male driver of the BMW was declared deceased on scene. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.

EPS Major Collision Investigations Section (MCIS) continues to investigate. Road conditions are not believed to have contributed to this collision; however, speed is considered a factor.
