At approximately 11:45 p.m., Monday, Dec. 22, 2025, West Branch Patrol responded to the report of a two-vehicle collision in the area of 180 Street and 118 Avenue. It was reported to police that a 2018 Audi Q5 was travelling westbound on 118 Avenue between 178 Street and 184 Street when it lost control, nearly leaving the roadway, and struck the back of a car hauler trailer that was parked on 118 Avenue.
EMS responded, treated and transported the 37-year-old male driver and a 35-year-old male front passenger to hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries where they both remain in stable condition. A 32-year-old female passenger who was in the rear of the SUV succumbed to her injuries on scene. The driver of the car hauler did not report any injuries.
EPS Major Collision Investigations Section (MCIS) continues to investigate. Speed is believed to be a factor in this collision.
“Sadly, speed has taken far too many lives on our streets, and we send our condolences to all of the friends and families who have lost loved ones this year,” says Sgt. Kamlesh Patel with EPS Major Collisions Investigation Section. “As we approach 2026, the EPS would like to remind motorists to slow down and drive with care so we can all arrive home safely in the new year.”
Investigators are asking any witnesses or anyone with dash camera footage of
the collision to please contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile
phone. Anonymous tips can be submitted to
