The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is investigating a fatal single-vehicle collision that occurred in Southeast Edmonton last night.

On Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2026, at approximately 9:10 p.m., a 2006 Smart Car operated by a 42-year-old male was travelling at a high rate of speed southbound on 91 Street near 23 Avenue. The driver was ejected from the vehicle. EMS responded, and the driver was pronounced deceased on scene.

The EPS Major Collision Investigations Section (MCIS) is leading the investigation. Speed is considered to be a factor in this collision.
