Police seek witnesses in fatal hit-and-run collision

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is seeking the public's assistance identifying the occupants of a forklift that was involved in a fatal hit-and-run collision last week.

At approximately 12:05 a.m. on Aug. 29, 2026 (late Friday night into Saturday morning), an unidentified male was operating a stolen forklift along 140 Avenue near 134 Street while two other males were riding the forklift. One of the riders, a 20-year-old male, fell off and was struck by the forklift, resulting in fatal injuries. The other occupants of the forklift fled the scene on foot.

EPS Major Collision Investigations Section (MCIS) is investigating the collision, and officers are asking witnesses or anyone with information or video footage of the collision to contact EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone.
