Charge laid in central Edmonton death

A man has been charged in a November homicide that took place in central Edmonton.

On Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2025, Keenan Antoine Singer Gladue, 26, was charged with second degree murder in the homicide of Burton Lee Gambler, 42.

A Nov. 25, 2025 autopsy confirmed Gambler died as a result of a homicide. The cause of death, sharp force injuries, was previously withheld for investigative reasons.

The accused was captured on surveillance video threatening a witness with a machete in the area of Joey Bell Tower at approximately 7 p.m. on Nov. 21, 2025. The witness is pictured below at right, in a puffy jacket with the hood up.

Investigators are looking to identify this witness, and are asking them to come forward by contacting police at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone.

Background

On Nov. 21, 2025, at approximately 8:52 p.m., the EPS Community Safety Team was on proactive patrol in the area of 97 Street and 107 Avenue when they located a deceased male. The male had suffered obvious injuries, and Homicide Section took over the investigation.
