Police seek assistance identifying persons of interest in playground arson

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is releasing video of five persons of interest in the investigation of an arson that occurred at a playground in July.

On Saturday, July 12, 2025 at approximately 8 a.m., EPS and Edmonton Fire Rescue Services (EFRS) responded to a fire in the area of 122 Avenue and 128 Street, at a playground adjacent to St. Pius X Catholic Elementary School. The fire has since been determined to be arson. The playground was severely damaged and will remain closed until further notice.

Investigators are releasing the following images and surveillance video of two males and three females who are persons of interest in this investigation.
