Police investigating suspicious death

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is investigating a suspicious death that took place earlier today in central Edmonton.

On Saturday, July 4, 2026, at approximately 6:30 a.m., Downtown Branch patrol officers responded to a weapons complaint in the area of 106 Avenue and 113 Street. Upon arrival, they located an injured male.

EMS responded, treated and transported the male to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

EPS Homicide Section continues to investigate. An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday, July 6, 2026.

Investigators are seeking video footage from the area of 111 Street to 115 Street and 103 Avenue to 107 Avenue that may have captured a dark-coloured SUV fleeing the area between 5:30 a.m. and 7 a.m. this morning.
