Dedicated to Protect, Proud to Serve

Crime Prevention and Education

Preventing crime is everyone's business. While police officers are visibly present and doing their best to prevent and deter crime, it is in partnership with our citizens that crime is most effectively prevented.

As a volunteer with the Edmonton Police Service, you have the opportunity to work along side police officers by providing information to community residents and those most vulnerable. You will help ensure they can take appropriate steps to protect themselves from becoming a victim of crime.

Currently there are no positions available however to be placed on a waiting list or for more information on this program please email volunteer@edmontonpolice.ca

Community Patrol members are civilian volunteers, 18 years of age and over, who assist the EPS members in community based policing by providing extra eyes and ears on Edmonton's Streets. Patrol Members use assigned radios and operate through a patrol base station operator. Members are in constant contact with an EPS officer and report unusual or suspicious behaviour.
