Suspect vehicle identified in February homicide

Investigators are releasing images of a suspect vehicle in a February Castle Downs homicide in the hopes of generating tips about the murder. 

On Monday, Feb. 16, 2026, Edmonton Police Service (EPS) officers responded to reports of a shooting in the area of 109 Street and 166 Ave. Upon arrival, they found an injured male, and lifesaving measures were administered by both EPS and EMS. The male was taken to hospital where he was later declared deceased. A Feb. 19, 2026 autopsy confirmed Alinur Mohamed Mussa died of gunshot wounds, and his death was a homicide.

Investigators are now releasing images of a black 2012-2015 Audi Q5, believed to be the suspect vehicle.

Anyone with information about this vehicle, or who may have seen it in the area of the homicide between 12 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 16, 2026, to is asked to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone.
