“We are so grateful for our partnership with the HELP Team. We have been able to work together to make a difference in the lives of so many of our unhoused community members,” says Alicia Johnson, shift lead for The Mustard Seed Street Team.
The HELP Unit has successfully referred many unhoused community members to The Mustard Seed's housing focused shelters, where they have a safe space to work on their goals and gain housing.
The team has also assisted in many interactions with the community at The Mustard Seed's drop-in shelters and has collaborated with The Mustard Seed Street Team throughout the Old Strathcona district.
The HELP Team has been able to create relationships with both The Mustard Seed staff and the community members accessing their services. This has been valuable in creating trust between the homeless community and Edmonton Police. The Mustard Seed is excited to continue collaborating with the HELP Team.
