Chief's Community Council

 

The purpose of the Chief’s Community Council (CCC) is to provide advice and guidance to the Edmonton Police Service on the implementation of, or recommendations borne from EPS Community Engagement Activities. The council will guide meaningful dialog centered on developing mutual trust, information sharing, relationship building, and the ability to problem-solve shared issues amongst marginalized communities.

This includes providing advice and guidance on:

  • The identification and development of recommendations from the EPS engagement efforts .
  • The prioritization of recommendations from the EPS community engagement activities.Solutions to various shared issues that emerge through the Council’s work
  • Addressing new and emerging trends and issues of vulnerability
  • Recommending improvements on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI).

 

The Chief’s Community Council (CCC) is made up of members who represent various communities in Edmonton.  

The purpose of CCC is to advise and give guidance to Edmonton Police Service (EPS). 

Members will contribute to:

  • Representing community voices. 
  • Strengthening engagement and communication between EPS and their communities. 
  • Recommending improvements on Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI). 

Time Commitment:

  • A two-year term beginning January 2026, with potential for renewal up to 4 years. 
  • Attendance at four scheduled meetings per year and opportunity to attend two learning symposiums annually. 
  • Approximately 2-5 volunteer hours a quarter. 

 

The CCC is consists of community members whose voices, opinions, and experiences will help shape EPS policies and practices.  Meet our current members:
